It is a place where famous DJ’s from all over the world gather and play out the best tracks of the summer, in some of the best venues in the world. Clubs in Ibiza include: Eden, Es Paradis, Pachaa and Privilege.

The Spanish island also plays host to a variety of great hotels on the San Antonio Bay, including: Bahia Hotel and the Ibiza Rocks hotel are the most popular. The hotels are usually self catering but all inclusive deals can be found. There are many three star hotels along the strip, some nearer to the hustle of the town, and some further away, offering the party goers a more relaxed scene before hitting the west end at night.

This mode of transport is cycling. Only the most fittest and active of us would attempt to cross the country by a bike, although it can be a rewarding experience. Crossing through country lanes, steep uphill roads and past rivers and streams can only really be seen through the eyes of a cyclist. Luggage is the only drawback of cycling.

A lot of people travel by foot, or across land by means of a vehicle. Others travel across seas via ships and planes. There are a few, though, who travel through the air by the use of a hot air balloon. Strangely, a hot air balloon can cover large distances, although usually not over a country.

The balloons offer large views over the country, and not only that, but offer a totally different experience to travelling than any other form of transport would. The one drawback with the balloon though, is that it has to keep away from airports as it could interfere with aircraft, resulting in injuries of those on the plane of the balloon itself.

Warning – my friend told me her near holiday disaster story last night. She was trying to book a holiday to Egypt from Teletext. Now I usually wouldn’t do this but she has booked her last minute holidays like this before and has never had any problems. But this time round she believes she was being had by the company. When she originally spoke to an operative the holiday was priced at £385 each for two people, the operative then quoted £420 each (the extra expense was for baggage allowance). She told the man she would ring back once she had confirmed that both her and her boyfriend could afford this. When she rang back she spoke to another man who then said, and I quote,
That price is wrong, it’s actually £485 each, you must have made that other price up because the price you’re saying doesn’t exist
Feeling slightly put out she asked for the original operative but she was informed that he was on a break but he would call back – he never did! Over the next day she was promised 5 times for a call back but never got one. When she finally got through to him he quoted her £420 again as promised the first time. So she said ok, he took her details and put her on hold for over 15 minutes in order to get a reference number. He then cut her off, so she rang back to which she was told that once again her operative was on a break and he would call her back.
THE NEXT DAY she rang again to find out her reference number to which he then asked
Would you be flexible on the day you leave?
Obviously puzzled as she thought her holiday had been reserved, she asked if her holiday was booked and the man replied no. There had been a mistake but he could rectify it if she flew a few days later. She was not happy but agreed – at this point she just wanted to secure the holiday. The man then said
Ok that will be £920 all together
She was admittedly puzzled as he originally quoted £420 each! She then started shouting as she had got to the end of her patience with these people; the operative then admitted that because he had put her on hold so long the day before the holiday had already been sold!!!!
Utterly rubbish!!!

I have decided that if I ever win the lottery then my first holiday destination would be Bora Bora. This looks one of the most beautiful places in the world. Miles (literally) from anywhere, in the middle of the South Pacific Ocean, Bora Bora French Polynesia has the idyllic white sand beaches and clear blue sea surrounding it. It simply breath taking in its beauty and if you are seriously rich then perfect destination for a honeymoon.
It has all the usual tourist things to do, island tours, scuba diving, water sports, shopping, restaurants, bars and night life etc.
I think I might seriously be in love with this place – going to do some in depth research into cheaper ways of staying on the island!!!

Posh tents and caravans put up for you by someone else, running water, BBQs, decking and private pools, this is defiantly a much nicer way to holiday in the outdoors. There are loads of destinations in Britain, Europe and even Australia. I really really want to try this out, it looks like a great way to experience Spain, Portugal and the Lakes.
There appear to be a few companies who have cottoned onto what appears to be a lucrative market as some of the destinations charge a far whack!!! So are more reasonable though at about €130 per week for 2 people.

I am definitely not advocating a year off work but if you are in need of an adventure and feel the urge to get something more from life then check out Gap years for adults. I looked into this myself after 3 weeks in Africa.
Be warned though you will need to save the pennies, these are not cheap travelling trips. It is mostly volunteering and you need to raise a certain amount of money to be able to sponsor yourself where ever you decide to go. The problem with companies like these is they take a huge chunk of the money you pay, however they do take all the hassle out of a trip like this – Visas, places to stay, sorting out a host etc, these would be difficult to sort out on your own.

And they also offer once in a lifetime experiences – I personally really want to go to Malaysia to do the Orang-utan Experience.
